Missouri PreLicense Product Training Requirements

Annuity Training

State required training for insurance producers that sell annuity products.

Effective March 30, 2017: All producers currently licensed to sell, solicit, and negotiate annuity products in Missouri, must complete a one-time annuity training course approved for at least 4 hours by September 30, 2017. All producers licensed on or after March 30, 2017 must complete this training prior to selling, soliciting, or negotiating such products.
*Producers who satisfy the training requirements of another state that are similar to the Missouri law, will be deemed compliant for the Missouri requirement.

License Application Process

  1. Make State Exam reservation: Apply online at www.pearsonvue.com or by phone at 866-274-4740 with Pearson VUE.

    Materials Needed to Apply: Candidate must present two (2) forms of current signature identification. The name on the identification must exactly match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government issued, photo-bearing with a signature and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature. Identification must be in English.

    Exam Format:
    • The passing score required on each exam is 70.
    • When you complete the exam, you will receive a score report marked “pass or fail”.

  2. Apply for a license: After passing the examination, apply for your license by contacting the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration at www.insurance.mo.gov.
