To qualify for a resident Nevada state insurance producer license, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Per Nevada PLE requirements, applicants are required to complete all of the lessons in the Pre-license education course sequentially before they can be issued a certificate of completion.
  • Applicants must read each lesson and pass the end-of-chapter quizzes with a 70% or higher to proceed to the next lesson.

  • Exam Proctor Requirements: The final exam must be monitored by a disinterested third party. Proctors must not serve for examinations of family members, relatives, or dependents; employers or supervisors; employees or subordinates; partners, joint ventures, co-owners, or business associates; or for anyone in whom the proctor or instructor has an economic or other interest in assuring the successful outcome of the examination..

Reporting and Nevada PreLicense Exam Prep Certificates of Completion

Certificate of Completion

1st Academy School of Insurance (Las Vegas, NV; provider 108078), the provider of record provides online certificate of completions. An applicant must meet Nevada’s PLE requirements before a certificate of completion is issued. Certificates of completion are valid for two years from the date of course completion.

Resident License Application Process

  1. Resgister for the State Exam: Register online by visiting http://www.pearsonvue.com/nv/insurance/ or by calling (800) 274-2609.

  2. Materials Needed to Apply: Candidates must present two forms of current signature identification. The name on the identification must exactly match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government-issued and photo-bearing with a signature, and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature. Identification must be in English.     Exam Format: Applicants must pass the state licensing exam with an 80% or higher to file a license application.

  3. File license application: License application can be submitted online through http://www.nipr.com. Once you have submitted your application to the Division, you should log back into the application system using your candidate transaction number to attach supporting documentation to your online application.

  4. Fingerprinting Process: Candidates may only call MorphoTrust, USA™ at 866-761-8069 to make fingerprint reservation. Pearson VUE cannot make the reservation for you. WALK-IN digital fingerprints will be available at IdentoGO by MorphoTrust, USA ™locations only NOT Pearson VUE test centers. Fingerprint Background Waiver can be obtained by visiting www.asisvcs.com.

Transfer Nevada PreLicense Application Process

Transfer Producer Requirements

New residents who still hold an active license in their previous home state may not be required to complete prelicense education as long as the applicant was previously licensed for the same lines of authority. The license applications and fees must be received within 90 days after the cancellation of the license. The applicant must provide a letter of clearance to document the cancellation date.

Non-Resident Nevada PreLicense Exam Prep Requirements

Non-Resident License Requirements

Applicant must be licensed in good standing in home state for all lines for which you are applying, and submit an application and appropriate licensing fees online.

License Application Process

Nonresident individuals applying for a producer license must apply electronically through Sircon Compliance Express or through the NIPR. Electronic transaction fees apply. Effective July 1, 2015, licensing fee will be reduced to $185, plus online processing fees. Applicants requiring an agency affiliation must pay an additional $50 for each affiliation. Those applicants applying through Sircon may print their license online for free for up to 30 days after the license is issued.
