Resident License Application Process

  1. Resgister for the State Exam: Register online by visiting or by calling (800) 274-2609.

  2. Materials Needed to Apply: Candidates must present two forms of current signature identification. The name on the identification must exactly match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government-issued and photo-bearing with a signature, and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature. Identification must be in English. Transfer Nevada PreLicense Application Process

Transfer Producer Requirements

New residents who still hold an active license in their previous home state may not be required to complete prelicense education as long as the applicant was previously licensed for the same lines of authority. The license applications and fees must be received within 90 days after the cancellation of the license. The applicant must provide a letter of clearance to document the cancellation date.

License Application Process

Nonresident individuals applying for a producer license must apply electronically through Sircon Compliance Express or through the NIPR. Electronic transaction fees apply. Effective July 1, 2015, licensing fee will be reduced to $185, plus online processing fees. Applicants requiring an agency affiliation must pay an additional $50 for each affiliation. Those applicants applying through Sircon may print their license online for free for up to 30 days after the license is issued.
